In addition to Directing, Stephen is an accomplished Screenwriter, Editor, Assistant Director, and Musician.
Stephen studied screenwriting at the University of Texas, Los Angeles Film School, and Chapman University. He’s written most of the films he’s directed, including the award-winning short Mix It Proper, and his graduate thesis, Tinhead. He currently has four feature screenplays in active development.
Stephen’s professional experience managing projects and processes on a global level for a $100 million company, combined with a calm and collected demeanor, make him a natural First AD. His deep knowledge of all aspects of filmmaking allows him to communicate efficiently with all departments, and his expertise as a director and editor ensure that the show gets the shots it needs.
Stephen has a long history of professional editing experience encompassing work for educational institutions, narrative films, documentaries, music videos, brand videos, training videos, and TV commercials. Much of that work has incorporated motion graphics creation and audio production. He is proficient with Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, and Media Composer.
Stephen is certified by Health Education Services to work as a COVID-19 Compliance Officer on music video, commercial, TV, and film sets. He has a long history of developing and implementing health and safety protocols, having created and maintained an OHSAS 18001 certified program at Velocity Electronics.
